disjunction notice // connection instructions
Follow these instructions to connect to the wrong router and access the disjunction notice poetry archives:
- Once you are within range of the router wifi signal (most areas within the SILS library should work), select the.wrong wifi network on your device. The router is accessible to all wi-fi enabled devices (phones, laptops, tablets, etc.).
- Click through any warnings that the connection/network is not secure. The router is NOT connected to the Internet and only provides access to the locally stored content. The router is a closed connection and entirely secure, so no need to worry.
- Once you connect, your device may launch a 'captive portal,' leading directly to the archives. If so, you will see a page that says "enter the wrong." Click 'enter.'
- If your device does not launch a captive portal upon connection, you can access the archives through any web browser. Open your browser and navigate to http://the.wrong, or scan the QR code below. You should see a page that says "enter the wrong." Click 'enter.'
Depending on the device you are using, you may encounter some issues.
Make sure you navigate to http://the.wrong. If your browser defaults to https://the.wrong, this will not work.
The poems in the archives comprise text, audio, images, and video. The poems have been tested across many devices and browsers, but these tests have not been comprehensive. If you encounter media that is not playing correctly, try a different device or browser.
Videos and audio, in particular, do not always play when accessed through the captive portal. For full functionality, try a browser.
If you have any issues not addressed in this document, please reach out to Colin Post (ccolin@live.unc.edu). The router is relatively untested and I expect to encounter additional technical issues throughout the exhibition, so reporting any issues to me will be a big help!
